Virtual Helpdesk partners with Glider to keep asset information reliable for the life of your estate

We’re pleased to announce a new partnership with Glider Technology, bringing Glider’s approach to asset information governance together with VHD’s facilities and compliance management platform.

A stronger foundation behind the compliance and maintenance work you already trust us with

VHD’s CAFM platform is built to run the day-to-day reality of managing an estate. Statutory inspections, contractor compliance, planned and reactive maintenance and a clear, auditable Golden Thread of information across every building and asset. This partnership adds something underneath that work, a governed record of your building’s assets that stays accurate over the long term.

Why asset information breaks down over the life of a building

Most buildings start with reasonably good asset information. The trouble is what happens to it over years of operation.

Contractors change. Assets get replaced. Updates happen across different systems instead of one. Sometimes information was never captured properly to begin with, and sometimes it’s technically there but buried somewhere nobody has time to search. The result is familiar to most estates teams. You can’t always find what you need, you’re not always sure you can trust it once you do, and that makes it harder to prove compliance, plan maintenance or make a confident investment decision.

What Glider brings to this partnership

Glider calls this discipline Asset Intelligence. Asset Intelligence is the discipline that ensures the people responsible for buildings can find, trust and act on the information they need to keep them safe, compliant and performing. It’s not a piece of software. It’s a practice that runs across the whole life of a building, from design and construction through to disposal, decades later.

Glider’s part in this partnership is governance, making sure there’s a single, structured, validated record of your building’s assets that holds up over time.

How the two come together

Take a statutory inspection as an example. Today, that certificate might land in an inbox, get filed against the wrong asset, or never get properly linked back to the building’s record at all. Under this partnership, the inspection data captured through our platform flows into Glider’s governed record automatically, attached to the right asset, so the record reflects what’s actually happened on site.

We’re also exploring deeper technical integration between the two platforms, so the day-to-day work our platform manages keeps Glider’s governed record current as a matter of course, rather than the two drifting apart over time.

What this means for you

Put simply, the information behind your compliance, your maintenance planning and your investment decisions should get more reliable the longer you operate a building, not less. That’s a shift from how most estates currently work, where information is usually most trustworthy on day one and gets shakier from there.

“Our customers already trust us to track statutory inspections, manage contractor compliance and keep a clear, auditable record across their estate,” said Rob Nicoll, Director at Virtual Helpdesk. “This partnership means that record now sits on a governed information layer that holds up over time, not just within our own platform. We’re looking forward to exploring how closely the two can work together.”

What’s next

This partnership is still in its early stages. We’ll share more as the technical integration between the two platforms develops, including what it means in practice for our customers.
